Ants

Carpenter ants, pavement ants, and others peak from spring through fall, seeking food and moisture indoors. Carpenter species can weaken wood over time.



Top species: Carpenter ants, odorous house ants, pavement ants, and pharaoh ants.

Seasonality: Most active from April through September, when colonies seek food and water indoors.

Risks: Carpenter ants tunnel into wood, which can weaken structural integrity over time.

Eastern subterranean termites thrive here, building hidden mud tubes. Untreated, they cause major structural damage not covered by most insurance.

Spiders:  While most are harmless, their presence usually indicates a separate insect food source.
